To the Editor: Re "Long-Term Jobless Regroup to Fight the Odds" (front page, Aug. 17): One way or another, the older long-term unemployed become invisible. They stop looking for work and disappear from unemployment statistics. They lose their homes and blend into the shadows of shelters and streets.
