How Millennials are engaging - or not - online
Millennials are more comfortable online than many other demographics. This isn't a surprise. They've grown up with computers, video games and social networks, so it should come as no surprise that they're more comfortable in the space than older consumers. A new report out from Nielsen NeuroFocus shows just how differently Millennials are engaging.

Here are a few key takeaways on getting a ROI from Millennials online:
- Get social - Millennials are influenced on brand/product choices by their peers more than Boomers. For Millennials, friends & peers drives purchasing decisions after your brand initially makes a connection so give users a way to relevantly share your product with friends and bring them (as well as their friends) back to your site to drive conversion.
- Go mobile - web or app. As long as you are able to provide a friendly mobile experience for multiple platforms that is all that matters when it comes to e-commerce. For social or leisure experiences, mobile apps provide a more immersive, sticky experience.
- Know your ad demographic’s desires - Millennials click on social & dynamic ads. Static ads are for the Boomers.
- Get to the point & know the language of the platform you are advertising on - Millennials speak differently, thanks to mobile/online forums & Twitter so expect faster answers than Boomers
